A step towards Civil War

Last week the Virginia House Committee passed a bill that would heavily regulate "assault weapons" aka AR15's, AK's, M1 Carbines, M1A's, FAL's, or anything that looks scary should it be passed by a full vote on the House floor. The first draft of this surreal legislation outright banned all possession of these firearms and would have forced owners to surrender them or face becoming felons. Seeing the mob grow and voice their anger, the House Public Safety Committee modified it to prohibit sales and transfers thus allowing you to keep what you have... for now.

Do not allow yourself to fall for this ruse. It's intended to pacify you. The idea is that if you can keep your firearms while you're alive, you won't rise up to fight. They hope that you will quietly accept that your children and their children won't inherit your property, instead your property will be surrendered upon your death to the State. You'll die quietly and your children won't fight for your guns, they'll roll over and accept the tyranny. Problem solved, your children are now powerless subjects of the ruling party.

Not surprisingly, this didn't placate the angry mob that attended the committee meeting. They stood up and started shouting angrily at the democrat legislators. In response, the police guarding the chambers started kicking the citizens out and the legislators continued their business behind closed doors.

This is not how a Republic is supposed to work. Our government is not to be allowed to work in secrecy or to force illegal laws on the citizens, yet they do it all the time. Worse, the courts tend to protect these unconstitutional laws and tyrannical behavior by legislators. It's the government protecting itself and its interests at the expense of what's right and just.

While the bill that left the committee for a vote allows citizens of Virginia to keep their "assault weapons", it is far more aggressive towards things like magazines over 12 rounds (another arbitrary number just like 10 used elsewhere in the country) and it doubles down on a federal ban on bump stocks.

Ironically, the first image in this article is of the Virginia State flag. The Latin phrase "Sic Semper Tyrannis" translates to "and thus always to tyrants". It was yelled by John Wilkes Booth as he leapt from the balcony after the assassination of President Lincoln on April 14th, 1865. Now the citizens of Virginia that once celebrated Liberty face tyranny and subjugation.

Virginia now has tyrants sitting in the Virginia State legislature committing acts of treason which inevitably will lead to violence. At some point Americans will be pushed too far, and it seems to be the mission of the VA legislature to see just how far they can push Patriots. They're playing a dangerous game of chicken as I firmly believe Patriots are willing to fight should all other peaceful measures fail. Tyranny must not stand and given the unprecedented turnout on Lobby Day last month of 22,000 (or more) armed Patriots, I think the message is quite clear; "Not one more inch or else."

“As an army doctor, Governor Northam has seen firsthand what weapons of war do to a human body,” his spokeswoman, Alena Yarmosky, said in a statement. “This bill will save lives in Virginia, and the Governor is glad to see it advance.”

This being true, Gov. Northam had best rethink his actions because he's pushing VA Patriots, and likely Patriots from all over the nation, to respond to his actions with violence. When you push people into a corner, they often times will come out fighting.

I'm sure some of you are saying right now, "We must never resort to violence no matter what."

Our Founding Fathers were quite clear as to the meaning of the Second Amendment. Despite decades of anti-gun rhetoric trying to convince the American people that the 2nd Amendment protected the right to hunt, or somehow protected the right of the government to bear arms against the citizens (the collective right argument), both notions were struck down by Congress (1986 Firearms Owners Protection Act) and by the SCOTUS (Heller vs. DC, 2008). The 2nd Amendment clearly protects an individual right to keep and bear arms of those commonly used by the military for the purpose of providing security for a free State.

This is a critical part of the checks and balances of power carefully drafted into the Constitution by our Founders. We cannot allow this tyranny to spread. It's already spread like wildfire up the west coast and is now spreading like wildfire along the east coast.

Hell, right here in Indiana we had our own "assault weapons ban" introduced around the same time the VA democrats were working to push their anti-gun measures through the VA legislature. We defeated it, this time. Now Arizona is facing the same type of legislation. Only the citizens of Arizona can put a stop to that.

For whatever reason VA seems to be the epicenter for what very well may become the second American Civil War. I hope and pray this never happens, but we must remember we were commanded by our Founders to preserve Liberty at any cost, and they empowered us to do so through the application of force, if necessary, by ratifying the 2nd Amendment.

"What country ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure." ~ Thomas Jefferson, 1787

There is little doubt as to the purpose of our 2nd Amendment. It is the backbone of our Republic. Without it, and without the spirit to defend Liberty at any cost, we will surely become subjects and cease to be citizens.

Let's not hasten ourselves to violence though. Let's use what's happening in States across the country to mobilize a groundswell of Patriots to the ballot box. If we fail to do so, we may condemn ourselves to another Civil War, and any rational person should desire to avoid such mayhem and destruction.

Least not forget, the outcome of such a conflict, no matter how justified, is not a foregone conclusion. The right side very well may lose. I would rather we not roll the dice and turn neighbor against neighbor if we can avoid it. We should always strive for peace, but prepare for war.

Keep a close eye on Virginia and be prepared to assist our brothers and sisters in arms should the democrat legislators be foolish enough to continue their increasingly dangerous game of chicken. Do not blink Patriots, stand firm. You are not required to comply with illegal and unconstitutional laws.
